Total Control Solutions group came to my web design partner to help them update their site into something more modern, and approachable for new customers while maintaining a familiar brand feel for their current clientele.

The goals of the site were to:

  • Communicate that TCSG is a smaller team of highly trained people who hav experience taking a project from start to finish and maintenance

  • Profile their expertise and experience

  • Showcasing the 4 companies and 3 divisions (Engineering, Field Services, Products)

  • Update their SEO with recommendations to drive more traffic

  • Reach a broader audience including folks in the oil and gas, manufacturing and chemical industries. As well as people working both in the field and in procurement office positions and executives.

Our visual direction was informed by the existing approachable nature of the Total Control Solution logo. To the graphic language we introduced:

  • Rounded edges: maintaining an approachable feel and to pair with the existing brand we opted for graphic treatments in the buttons, tiles, and iconography that have a round edge

  • Colour palette: built out the existing colours which will be familiar to current clientele. We chose to introduce a complementary yellow as an accent to help add hierarchy and create visual interest

  • Photo treatment: layering the brand blue or the complementary yellow over some images to create consistency and add a textural element to pages without overwhelming

  • Navigation: this was identified to us as an important feature as they have a range of clients using mobile devices as well as desktops computers and are in varying age ranges. Introducing a Sticky Navigation supports this ask so users don’t have to scroll to the top every time they want to view the menu. As well, we included drop down menu options in navigation so that the user can see where they are going before they get there.
